About Us

Who we are

Based out of San Antonio, NeuroPro of Texas is a private practice, physician-owned and independently managed medical group specializing in facility-based neurological care, not only for stroke but for all patients with complex neurological diagnoses.

Inpatient neurology is a critical need specialty across almost all markets in the US.  At the core of NeuroPro is providing full service and fast access to neurology in all our client med/surg acute hospitals through a traditional production model.

Our team of professionals have more than 38 years combined clinical and administrative experience dedicated neuro-hospitalist medicine.  Over our career, we have seen it all in inpatient neurology.

Our client hospitals in the greater San Antonio area include two traditional med/surg acute certified stroke centers, plus three Long Term Acute hospitals.  Presently, the group consists of three health care providers, two physicians and one nurse practitioner, with continual opportunities for group expansion and growth.

Why we are different

To say that the NeuroPro opportunity is different from other inpatient based neurology groups is an understatement.  Our small group of dedicated medical professionals provide 24/7/365 access to inpatient neurological care for a select group of client hospitals. The work we do is hard and can be demanding but with the shortage of access to inpatient neurology in most hospitals, we see it as a calling – not just a job – to provide this service.  It is not enough to simply give coverage, but to also add value to the inpatient medical team.  Dedication is our specialty.

In our professional career dedicated to inpatient neurology, we have gained insight to the finances of our industry.  Some economic realities are inescapable.  The simple truth is – regardless of the schedule format – for a group to survive and to compensate its practitioners, revenues must exceed expenses, and a significant portion that revenue stems from patient encounters. To that end, on the hospital floor and in the emergency room of our client hospitals, we welcome all consults, regardless of diagnosis or severity.

Another principle we have learned over the years is that cultivating relationships with our key stakeholders is the foundation to success.  Our goal is to manage our relationships proactively through daily communication and collaboration in a manner that is consistent with quality patient care.  Our team of providers remain always available, and active management of our stakeholders is a dynamic and ongoing process that speaks to the heart and soul of NeuroPro.

Finally, in addition to stroke, traumatic brain injury, meningitis, and status epilepticus, our team of practitioners commonly see patients with other central nervous issues such altered mental status, seizure disorders, autoimmune disorders, headaches, neuromuscular diseases, coma, increased intracranial pressure, dementia, and end of life issues.

At NeuroPro, because our practitioners are our most precious asset, we openly stand for truth and transparency with all our providers.  We have an atmosphere of friendship, cooperation, integrity, and personal camaraderie fostering the notion that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  Teamwork, expert care for our patients, and attentive to the needs of our clients is who we are.  It is indeed an exciting time full of opportunity so please consider joining our team!
